AD

AD is an abbreviation for Anno Domini. It indicates that the year mentioned is after the accepted date of Christ's birth.

AD in small capitals is written just before the numerals, as AD 125 to indicate 125 years after Christ.
When numerals are spelled, such as the second century, it is written the second century AD.
