Abject is a word that refers to an extremely bad, unpleasant and degrading condition of a person or a group.

It also refers to an extremely unhappy state of mind, sometimes absolute and humiliating.

When it comes to behaviour of a person or a group, it refers to the mode of action that is without any dignity whatsoever.
