Aboukir

Aboukir was a village near Alexandria, in Egypt, on the bay near which Nelson destroyed the French fleet in 1799, where Napoleon beat the Turks in 1799, and where Abercrombie fell in 1801.

Its modern name is Abu Qir, which is a town, on Abu Qir Peninsula, with Abu Qir Bay to the east.
