Absorbed dose

Absorbed dose is a term used in physics that refers to the energy of ionizing radiation absorbed per unit mass.

The absorbed dose is equal to the radiation exposure (ions or Coul/kg) of the radiation beam multiplied by the ionization energy of the medium to be ionized.

It is measured in rads.
