Absorption spectrum

Absorption spectrum is a term used in physics that refers to the electromagnetic spectrum shown as dark lines or bands when an electromagnetic radiation passes through a substance. It happens due to absorption of certain wavelengths of the electromagnetic radiation that is transmitted through the object.

Since the pattern of absorption is always unique, it enables us to identify the material or substance
