Abu'l-Fath al-Busti

Abu'l-Fath al-Busti (d. 1009) was a Persian writer and poet of the Ghaznawi period, well known for Arabic verse and prose composition, especially his skillful word-play. In law, he followed Shaffi' school. He was abducted by Subuktigin, father of Sultan Mahmud, but ultimately became secretary to Sultan Mahmud. He died in exile in Bukhara. His most famous works still recited by professional storytellers.
