ACADIA

Acadia is the French name for Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, now maritime provinces of Canada.

Acadia was formerly a French colony which was established in 1604. The territory on which the colony was established now forms Nova Scotia in Canada. The area was ceded to Britain in 1763. However, French Acadians were deported to Louisiana and other parts of North America.
