Access

Access is the facility, opportunity or right of a person to go to a certain place, to approach or see someone or something, or to use certain facilities.

There can also be access systems, like television, radio etc, through which we can have access to the public.

In computer science or on the internet, access to a computer or a website is given to anonymous or registered users by the system administrators on certain basis. Anonymous users are given limited access to the system. Registered or other privileged users need to enter passwords 'to access' their accounts for some more facilities. Since access is a noun, many grammarians object the computer science community for its usage as a verb. On certain ATMs (Automated teller machines) users see such message 'Enter password to access your account'. This language has been also been objected by grammarians, however, this expression is still in use.
