ACETIC ACID

Acetic acid is a term used in chemistry for the pure acid of vinegar. It is the acid that gives vinegar its characteristic taste.

Its liquid form is colourless and viscous. The salts are glassy solid and are called 'acetates'.

Its chemical formula is CH3COOH
