ACETONE

Acetone (CH3COCH3) is a highly inflammable colourless liquid used in industry as an organic solvent or as a synthetic reagent. It is obtained generally by the dry distillation of acetates.

Technically speaking, this colourless volatile liquid ketone is produced by oxidizing isopropanol.
