ACONCAGUA

Aconcagua is an extinct volcano. It is the highest peak of the Andes situated on the border between Chile and Argemtoma, about 100 m. north-east of Valparaiso. It rises up to 22,867 ft. high. It is also the highest mountain in the western hemisphere.

It was first ascended by a Swiss and a Scotchman, attendants of Fitzgerald's party.
