Acorn squash

Acorn squash is a winter squash of a dark green variety. It is a fruit, part of the Cucurbitaceae family, also known as the gourd family, which includes pumpkins and butternut squash. Acorn squash has distinctive longitudinal ridges and sweet, yellow-orange flesh.
