Activated sludge

Activated sludge is the aerated sewage that contains aerobic micro-organisms. It is used in 'activated sludge process' in a sewage (or industrial wastewater) treatment plant.

These micro-organisms help in breaking down the composition of the sewage in a treatment plant.
