ADJUTANT STORK

Adjutant stork or bird is a gigantic Indian stork found in India and Southeast Asia. This black-and-white coloured bird has bare head and neck. It has an enormous beak and adults are about 5 ft. in height. It feeds on carrion and offal, and is useful in this way, as storks are.

It belongs to the Leptoptilos genus and Ciconiidae family. There are two species of this bird.
