ADMIRAL

ADMIRAL is the chief commander of a fleet or naval squadron or a naval officer of very high rank.

In Britain there are three grades of admirals — admirals, vice-admirals, and rear-admirals, the first displaying his flag on the main mast, the second on the fore, and the third on the mizzen.

In US navy or Coast Guard, admiral is a commissioned officer of a very high rank, just above vice admiral.
