Admiralty

Admiralty is the rank or office of an admiral in navy or coast guard.

The courts of law, under maritime law, are also called admiralty that hear the cases concerning navigable water, ships or the sea.

Admiralty was formerly the name of a department of the British government. It used to administer the Royal Navy.
