Adrenocorticotropic hormone

Adrenocorticotropic (also spelled adrenocorticotrophic) hormone (ACTH) is a term used in biochemistry for a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. It is also known as adrenocorticotropin or adrenocorticotrophin.

This hormone stimulates the adrenal cortex.
