Adulthood

Adulthood is a state of being adult. It is originally a biological term that applies not only to humans but also to animals, birds, etc, who typically multiply themselves through a process of reproduction.

As a legal term, adulthood is variously defined in laws, reflecting the purpose, the society, the sex etc for which it is defined.

A human being attains adulthood usually at the age of 18. However, it ranges from 14 to 21 years, for various purposes.
