AGRA

AGRA is a handsome city on the Yamuna, in the state of Uttar Pradesh of India. It is famous for, among other monuments, the Taj Mahal, a magnificent mausoleum erected near it by the Emperor Shah Jehan for himself and his favourite wife. It is a centre of trade, and seat of manufactures of Indian wares. It was the capital of the Mogul empire during 1566-1658.
