Airavat

Airavat is an elephant in Hindu mythology. He is known as vehicle of Indra. He is the Diggaj of the east, means the elephant of the East. That elephant is not a simple elephant born of elephants in the jungle. But he came out of the churning of the milk ocean Samudramanthan among 14 objects. The name of his mate is Abhramu.

There was also another Airavat mentioned in the Hindu mythology, who is the serpent son of Kashyap by his wife Kadru. Kauravya was his descendant, who was father-in-law of Arjun and father of Ulupi.
