Ajoy Sinha
Ajoy Sinha was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1915 in Calcutta, now Kolkata. He was son of Ramesh Chandra Sinha who was a Deputy Magistrate. Ajoy Sinha joined Anusheelan Samity in 1929. At that time he was a school student. He had contact with Yugantar Party and Sreesangha. He was arrested in 1933 in Calcutta with arms, subsequently sentenced to 10 years R.I., and deported to the Cellular jail in Andamans to serve the sentence. There, he participated in the second hunger strike. He was repatriated in January 1938, and released in 1939. However, he was arrested again in 1940 at Bhadreshwar, in District Hooghly, and convicted to 2 years R.I. for distributing seditious leaflets. His total jail period was nine years.
