Al Qaeda

Al Qaeda, also spelled al-Qaidah or al-Qaeda, is a militant Islamic fundamentalist organization operating in various parts of the world. This Arabic term literally means 'the base', and conceptually this organization is working as a base for achieving its dream of establishing an Islamic caliphate.

It was founded in the late 1980s with the purpose to combat the Soviet troops in Afghanistan. However, after the exit of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the organization has changed its goal. Now, its aim is to establish a pan-Islamic caliphate by overthrowing non-Islamic regimes of the world. The are working in cooperation with several other Islamic extremist groups and carrying out terrorist attacks in several parts of the world.

This organization, in association with other Muslim extremist groups, is trying to expel Westerners and non-Muslims from all Muslim countries, working to convert many other countries into Islamic states.
