ALBINOS

ALBINOS are persons or animals with preternaturally pale skin and fair hair, almost white in colour. The eyes of an albino are typically pink with pupils of a red or pink colour. The eyes of such a person or animal are too weak to bear full light.

Such a condition occurs due to a congenital absence of pigment in the skin and hair.

In informal expressions, albino also refers to an abnormally white animal or plant.
