Alcaic

Alcaic is a term in prosody for a kind of verse invented by the Greek lyric poet Alcaeus who flourished around 600 BC.

It is a four-line verse stanza. It became model for the Roman poet Horace, though he slightly altered it in his poems. It also became the model for the Verse of the Renaissance.
