Alesius

Alesius (1500-1565), full name Alexander Alesius, also Alane, was a noted Scottish-German Lutheran theologian and reformer, born in Edinburgh. He was converted to Protestantism by Patrick Hamilton. He was driven first from Scotland and then from England, till he settled as a theological professor in Germany, where he took an active part in the Reformation.
