Alexander Blackwell

Alexander Blackwell (c.1700 - 1747) was a Scottish adventurer, born in Aberdeen. He studied medicine but took to printing. He was thrown into prison for debt. He was supported by his wife. However, on his release went to Sweden without his loyal wife, and was patronised there by the king. Later, he was convicted of conspiracy, and beheaded in 1747.
