Alexander of Hales

Alexander of Hales ( c. 1170/85 - 1245) was a Franciscan theologian and a scholastic philosopher. He was born at Hales, Gloucestershire, England. He was surnamed "Doctor Irrefragabilis," and is known as author of "Summa Theologiæ."
