Alkaline earth metals

Alkaline earth metals, or simply alkaline earth, are the group of elements that occupy Gouup IIA (2) of the periodic table in chemistry. These elements are beryllium (Be), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), barium (Ba), and radium (Ra).

These elements are reactive, electropositive and divalent metals. These occur in nature and form basic oxides which in turn react with water and form hydroxides which are comparatively insoluble.
