Alligator snapping turtle

Alligator snapping turtle, also known as alligator snapper, is the largest (weighing upto 67.5 kg) freshwater turtle in the North America. This snapping turtle has large head and long tail. It is found mainly in the Gulf States (southeastern US).

Its biological name is Macroclemys temminckii. It belongs to Chelydridae family.
