Alstroemeria

Alstroemeria is a flower plant of the genus of the same name. It derives its name from the great Swedish naturalist Klas von Alstroemer (1736-96).

This flower plant belongs to Liliaceae family. It grows showy lilylike flowers, and is cultivated as ornamental plant.

Several species of this plant are found, the famous Peruvian lily is one of them.
