Altar

Altar is a table in a Christian church. The bread and wine are consecrated at the altar during communion services.

It is also a flat-topped block, table, sand gathering or raised platform etc which is used for religious rituals. Such a platform is usually used for burnt offerings or for making other forms of sacrifices to a deity. Altars are used in several religions.
