Altazimuth

Altazimuth is a term used in astronomy for a telescope mounting. That is why it is sometimes also referred to as altazimuth mount, altazimuth mounting, or altazimuth telescope. This instrument is named by combining two words alt (short form of altitude) and azimuth, from its mounting that moves in altitude, that is about a horizontal axis, and azimuth, that is about a vertical axis.

It is also the name of an instrument that is used for measuring horizontal and vertical angles.
