Ambisonic

Ambisonic refers to a high-fidelity audio system. In such a system, the directional and acaustic properties of recorded sound are reproduced by using two or more channels. Its transmission channels do not carry speaker signals. Instead, they contain a speaker-independent representation of a sound field called B-format, which is then decoded to the listener's speaker setup.
