Ameen Rihani

Ameen Rihani (1876-1940) was a Syrian-American poet who wrote in Arabic and English. He greatly influenced modern Arabic poetry by reviving concept of poet as a visionary, introducing free verse and modern metaphors to Arabic poetry.
