Ananta Kumar Chakraborty
Ananta Kumar Chakraborty was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1911, at Bhawal, Dacca, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Durga Mohan Chakraborty, the Amin of Bhawal Estate. At the early age of 15, when he was yet a school student, he joined Anusheelan Samity. He went underground for party work and for three years police could not apprehend him. Nevertheless, he was finally arrested and sentenced to 5 years R.I. in 1933. He was deported to Andamans to serve the sentence, where he joined the second hunger strike in the Cellular jail in 1937 for 37 days. He was released in 1939.
