Ancona

Ancona is a port of Italy in the Adriatic, second to that of Venice. It was founded by Syracusans. The port city is the capital of Marche region.

There is also a chicken of a breed by this name with mottled black-and-white plumage. It is native to Ancona from which it derives its name.
