!Andaman Wood Pigeon Andaman Wood Pigeon is the state bird of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory of India. This is an endemic bird and is found only in Andaman and Nicobar group of islands in India. The bird lives in dense broad-leaved evergreen forest. This bird is of the size of a domestic pigeon but with longer tail. It has whitish head with checkerboard pattern on its neck. The upper parts are dark slate grey in colour and underparts are pale blue grey. It has Metallic green sheen on upper side. The bill of this bird is of reddish colour with yellowish tip. It has purplish red orbital skin.
