Angiotensin

Angiotensin is a term in biochemistry for a protein. Its presence in the blood tends to raise blood pressure and promotes the secretion of a corticosteroid hormone 'aldosterone' that is responsible for stimulating absorption of sodium by the kidneys regulating water and salt balance.
