Angostura Bark
Angostura bark, sometimes simply called angostura, is an aromatic bitter bark from some South American trees. It derives its name from the old city called Angostura in Venezuela the centre of its trade thence. The name of the city has been changed since 1846 to Ciudad Bolívar, but the name of the bark remains the same. This bark is used as a flavoring, and formerly was being used as a tonic and to reduce fever.
