Anna Jameson

Anna Jameson (1794-1860), full name Anna Brownell Jameson, née Murphy, was an English (Anglo-Irish) literary lady and art critic, born in Dublin. She was authoress of "Sacred and Legendary Art," "Legends of the Monastic Orders," "Legends of the Madonna," &c. She left unfinished at her death a work on Our Lord and John the Baptist as represented in art, which was completed afterwards by Lady Eastlake (1809 – 1893) under the title "The History of Our Lord in Art".
