Anne Sexton

Anne Sexton (1928-1974) was a US poet. It is said that she had 'no visible education'. However, she studied under confessional poet Robert Lowell at Boston University, and eventually elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in London in 1968. Her poetry is highly confessional and personal which explored experience of being a woman. She was one of the most embarrassingly honest poets of the confessional school. She committed suicide.
