Anomaly

Anomaly is the deviation from the standard, normal, or what is expected.

As a technical term in astronomy, it is the angular distance of a planet or satellite from its last perigee, ie the point at which it is nearest to the earth, or perihelion, ie when it is nearest to the sun.
