Antagonist

Antagonist is the characher in a work of play, poetry or fiction who stands in opposition to the protagonist in that work. An antagonist is such an adversary who is always in a state of conflict with someone or something, pitted against them, and interferes with them in a hostile manner. An antagonist can be a male or female or any other character like eunuch in the story.

An evil antagonist is generally referred to as a villain.
