Antipope

Antipope is a person who is elected or established as a pope by a civil power in opposition to one held by others to be canonically chosen, ie, elected by the cardinals. Sometimes, an antipope is such a person who is self-elected as pope or has usurped the office of the pope. There were some 26 of such, first and last.
