Anubis

Anubis is a deity in Egyptian mythology. He is the god of mummification and protector of tombs. He is typically represented with the body of a man and the head of a jackal, whose office, like that of Hermes, it was to see to the disposal of the souls of the dead in the nether world, on quitting the body.
