Anybody

Anybody simply means any person, such as in the sentence - Is anybody there? It is an indefinite pronoun. It is used for anyone irrespective of one's status or importance, though in a little less formal way. However, in negative sentences it means a person of some importance, such as in the sentence - You are not anybody in the department.
