Apennines

Apennines is a mountain range, a branch of the Alps extending for 880 miles (1,400 km), with spurs at right angles, nearly through the whole length of Italy, forming about the middle of the peninsula a double chain which supports the tableland of Abruzzi. It extends from the northwest to the southern tip of the country.
