Appliqué

Appliqué is an ornamental needlework on a piece of fabric. In such a work, pieces of fabric are sewn or stuck onto a large piece of fabric to create patters or making pictures. There was a time when the skill of making appliqué was considered a feminine accomplishment. Today, it has become a profession and has considerable demand for appliquéd cloths and garments.
