Arcadius

Arcadius (377-408), full name Flavius Arcadius Augustus, was the first emperor of the East (Eastern Roman Empire), born in Spain, a weak, luxurious prince, leaving the government in other hands. He was the eldest son of Emperor Theodosius I and his first wife Aelia Flaccilla, and the brother of Honoriusand. He was declared co-ruler of the East in 383, and the emperor in 395 until his death in 408.
