Archangels

Archangels, literally chief angels, are celestial beings of high rank. They are considered chief angels or messengers of the God.

In traditional Christian angelology, these are the eighth in order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy.

According to the Holy Koran of the Muslims, there are four archangels: Gabriel, the angel who reveals; Michael, the angel who fights; Azrael, the angel of death; Azrafil, the angel of the resurrection.
